For nearly five decades, Trojan Technologies has empowered municipalities and industries to unlock the potential of wastewater. By leveraging ultraviolet (UV) disinfection and advanced oxidation (UV AOP) technologies, it delivers robust solutions that neutralize harmful pathogens and contaminants, and advance water treatment standards.

A global leader in water reuse innovation, Trojan Technologies partners with hundreds of municipalities worldwide, helping recycle more than 1.5 billion gallons of non-potable reuse and potable reuse wastewater every day. Its UV AOP systems go beyond traditional disinfection, destroying trace organic contaminants and enabling safe reuse even in the most stringent applications, including potable reuse.

From irrigation and industrial applications to drinking water purification, its technologies are redefining the possibilities of water reuse, delivering high-performance treatment without compromise. With more than 11,000 Municipal UV system installations and a legacy built on scientific depth and engineering precision, Trojan Technologies continues challenging conventional water treatment approaches.

“Our customers are in desperate need of better technology to meet the demands of an ever-changing world,” says Pete Oveson, president. “That belief drives us to challenge the status quo and bring forward new solutions that truly shift how the world thinks about water treatment.”

Real-World Technology for a Resilient Water Future

At the core of Trojan Technologies’ expertise is UV-based disinfection, a physical process that inactivates harmful microorganisms, including chlorine-resistant pathogens like Cryptosporidium and Giardia, without producing chemical by-products or residues. It operates with a smaller footprint than many conventional methods and delivers rapid, dependable results. Whether targeting E. coli, fecal coliforms or Enterococci, its systems are designed to meet and exceed global regulatory standards while reducing operational costs and complexity.

Its comprehensive product portfolio includes trusted brands such as TrojanUV®, Aquafine®, VIQUA®, AQUAFIDES® and Aria Filtra® (formerly Pall Water), serving a broad spectrum of municipal, industrial and residential water treatment needs.
Every Trojan Technologies system is designed to perform under real-world conditions, where reliability and operator safety are non-negotiable. Details such as secure lockouts, channel gratings and light-lock mechanisms are engineered to uphold the highest safety and durability standards. Each system is rigorously tested before deployment to ensure consistent performance in the field.

That same attention to detail extends across Trojan Technologies’ service model. From initial water analysis and system design to commissioning, operator training and long-term maintenance, it offers end-to-end support through certified technicians and global partners. Digital tools like Trojan Stream provide real-time operational guidance, while free UV lamp recycling and tailored maintenance plans extend system life and minimize downtime.

To support feasibility planning, Trojan Technologies offers the TrojanUV AOP Demonstration System, a fully packaged, pilot-ready solution that allows communities to evaluate performance and gain experience under practical operating scenarios, guided by its expert piloting team.

“With proven expertise in pathogen and pollutant treatment, we’re driving the technology that enables real solutions to today’s toughest water challenges,” says Katrina Williams, VP, Innovation and Technology.

Across North America and beyond, Trojan Technologies’ solutions are integral to modern infrastructure. In Toronto, its UV systems play a critical role at Sherbourne Common, the first park in Canada to incorporate UV stormwater treatment into its design. Stormwater from surrounding areas is collected, disinfected and reused in the park’s striking water features, delivering visual appeal and public safety before safe discharge into Lake Ontario.

Further west, the Coquitlam Water Treatment Plant in Metro Vancouver relies on TrojanUV as part of a robust multibarrier treatment strategy. Drawing from mountain-fed reservoirs, the facility treats up to 1.2 billion litres of water per day using a combination of ozone, chlorine and UV to supply over a million residents with clean, safe drinking water.

Water security is no longer optional; it is a global mandate. Trojan Technologies is meeting that mandate with future-ready solutions engineered to anticipate tomorrow’s demands and sustain ecosystems amid shifting environmental and societal needs.
