For years, organizations across industries have relied on paper-based asset inspection processes. While it may have been a convenient option back then, today, it doesn’t seem viable due to the heaps of data generated by firms every day. As a result, organizations need to emphasize on adopting digital methods for asset management and inspection processes. Instead of relying on the conventional methods, organizations need to rely on digitally powered solutions that not only collect, manage, and process a large quantity of data but also carry out all these processes with veracity. Texas-based HUVR appropriately fulfills all these needs, helping industrial asset owners digitize and automate their paper-based inspection workflow along with integrating existing asset databases.

HUVR offers a unified asset inspection solution in the form of a packaged Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform with customizable options. The SaaS-based platform allows clients to create digital checklists based on different field inspections and generate reports from data collected in the process. The platform also has an analytics layer that enables clients to concurrently analyze the data in bulk and track anomalies, if any. The HUVR team has developed this platform as a white-label product, in order to allow clients’ partner contractors to log into the platform and insert field data. Additionally, for firms that leverage drone technology to perform asset inspection, HUVR tags and labels the captured images for a better understanding of the inspected field. “Our platform is highly client-oriented and ensures that complete control is placed in the hands of the clients,” mentions Bob Baughman, co-founder and CEO of HUVR.

When a client embarks on the journey to digitize and automate their paper-based asset inspection workflow, the HUVR team first interacts with them to analyze their needs, existing workflow, and desired outcome.
Thereafter, the company begins transforming the clients’ legacy asset inspection into digital processes by automating checklists, tagging and labeling asset images, and generating PDFs of the collected data in different formats.

Another major aspect that the HUVR team categorically emphasizes is information security, to safeguard a large amount of data gathered in the platform from external or internal breaches. “In every single interaction with clients, we go through extensive security, reliability, backup, and overall data integrity profiling. Our team also ensures that the delivered solutions are completely reliable, and the data collected through inspection is not shared with an unauthorized party or individual,” explains Baughman.

HUVR’s capabilities in the asset inspection industry can be better exemplified with the help of a successful client association wherein a company sought HUVR’s help to digitize their inspection workflow. The client organization also needed assistance to accurately upload data on various digital platforms and identify faults in the assets, if any. They were on the lookout for a solution that would provide them with a global asset inspection procedure and checklist for all of their international plants. To address all these needs, HUVR developed a SaaS-based platform, which was promptly accepted by their directors, plant managers, and field technicians. “Our solution helped client’s employees on all levels to monitor inspection data using an interactive dashboard and manage as well as synchronize information using mobile devices,” says Baughman.

Despite being a relatively new player in the asset inspection industry, HUVR has already established associations with IT giants such as Google. The company has also closed a strategic partnership deal with Strategic Maintenance Solutions, recently. HUVR now strives to expand into maritime and infrastructure industry. The company is also in the process of integrating its asset databases with IBM Maximo and SAP to widen its ambit.
