To address this, many utilities have adopted advanced tools like drones for broader imagery capture. While this improves visibility, it introduces a new challenge: data overwhelm. Drones generate massive volumes of images and video, which teams struggle to process in time for urgent decisions.

Tailored Inspections for Every Environment

Detect customizes its inspection workflows to match the structure, location, and surrounding conditions. For example, towers built from wood versus steel—or those near saltwater versus dry terrain—require different protocols.

“Once we understand a client’s needs, we use our proprietary planning engine—an AI tool that optimizes field team positioning. This ensures effective data capture while reducing downtime and equipment usage,” says Sattler.

Once planning is complete, Detect deploys field teams. While on-site personnel remain essential for safety and compliance, the actual data collection is largely automated through DetectOS. Drones, guided by the system, require minimal operator input and capture high-quality imagery from optimal angles.

Afterward, memory cards are uploaded to the platform for analysis, streamlining the entire process from capture to insight.

From Detection to Prediction

To amplify its impact, Detect is expanding across global locations within the next 18 to 24 months. The company is also developing new platform features to support a broader range of inspection types across diverse environments.
