Pollution levels are at an all-time high due to intensive agricultural and industrial practices needed to support a growing global population. And due to a majority of the waste being dumped into the oceans, rivers, and lakes water pollution has become a great concern worldwide. Fortunately, microbes might be the answer to the problem. Bioremediation—a process that uses microorganisms to break down pollutants into non-toxic substances—shows great potential to clean up and minimize pollution of water bodies due to its environmental compatibility and cost-effectiveness. Leveraging the bioremediation process, California-based BioCleaner, Inc. an environmental reclamation company offers a revolutionary, environmentally Friendly Wastewater Treatment System to treat contaminated soil, ground, and wastewater streams. Unlike other chemically-treated and high-priced water treatment systems, BioCleaner’s patented technology makes use of a variety of Biosafety Level I microbes to improve the quality of water. The company specializes in the biological and safe treatment of sewage, industrial waste, open water remediation, and sludge digestion. “BioCleaner is driven by technology and powered by nature,” adds Eros Kaw, CEO of BioCleaner.

Water is purified by immobilized microbes that are embedded in a bioreactor inside the BioCleaner’s water treatment unit. Through the process of bioremediation, the microbes purify water and make it usable for irrigation, boiler reuse, cooling towers, and washing. Also, with the help of reverse osmosis membranes, it can make the water fit for human consumption. BioCleaner breaks down unwanted waste and eliminates sludge at a very fast rate while leaving a low carbon footprint. Sludge—commonly used to describe semi-solids that cannot be broken down by wastewater treatment plants—is a major concern as handling it is a costly process with risks involved for human health and the environment.
BioCleaner eliminates the sludge handling process and simplifies the process of wastewater treatment. Odors are another concern when it comes to wastewater treatment, especially when the plant site is located near residential areas. BioCleaner easily treats foul odors as it uses microbes to digest the waste into carbon dioxide and water, eliminating the risk of hazardous gases escaping into the vicinity and causing harm to people.

BioCleaner employs different Biosafety Level One microbes that are effective at treating a wide variety of waste such as fats, oils, and grease as well as removing pesticides and antibiotics from water. And unlike other water cleaning treatment systems, the BioCleaner unit once installed constantly produces microbes on its own—microbes replicate and spread into the water around the unit—and therefore does not require new microbes to be added. BioCleaner can be seamlessly integrated into industrial and municipal wastewater treatment plants as the BioCleaner unit needs to be simply submerged into the target process pond. It only requires electricity to run a small blower that supplies air into the unique growth media that that activates the microbes. In addition, BioCleaner requires very little maintenance, and the operating costs are minimal.

BioCleaner is driven by technology and powered by nature

BioCleaner’s units are specialized to treat all kinds of organic waste in different bodies of water. The company has successfully completed several projects in many parts of the world ranging from sewage treatment, industrial waste treatment, commercial pond systems, agricultural waste, and oil refineries. In fact, BioCleaner can be customized to fit in aquariums so that the water does not need to be replaced frequently while removing odor. Moving forward, BioCleaner is focusing on investing in R&D and expanding its manufacturing capability. This is in anticipation of higher demand for wastewater treatment solutions due to the scarcity of drinking water due to increased pollution, especially in lakes. BioCleaner harnesses the power of nature to offer an affordable and environment-friendly water treatment system.
